Advertising impression limits are specified when you set up
a campaign. The GeoCommunity tracks how many impressions are
delivered and compares numbers for each campaign against the
impression goal for the campaign.
If a campaign falls behind schedule on
meeting impressions, the GeoCommunity ad delivery mechanism automatically increases
the chance that it will be delivered. If a campaign gets
ahead of schedule, it decreases the chance that
it will be delivered. This continuous adjustment keeps every
campaign on track.
When you run an advetising campaign on the GeoCommunity, you can choose
any of these delivery specifications:
- Date Based Delivery -- Start and
end campaigns by calendar day.
- Impression Based Delivery --
Deliver an exact number of ad views.
- Combination Delivery -- Choose
multiple delivery options and end campaign automatically
upon criteria met soonest or latest.
- Date Range Delivery -- Set up
campaign to take into account dates and impressions for
consistent delivery throughout date range.
- Competitive Separation -- Prevent
competitive advertisers from appearing on the same page
at the same time as your ad(i.e. a Visa ad and a MasterCard ad
appearing side by side).
- Companion Positions -- Coordinate
delivery of two or more theme ads into page at the same
time (i.e. top ad and bottom ad match each other and are
always delivered together).
- Impression Frequency -- Limit
number of times unique readers may see an ad.
- Click-through Frequency -- Limit
number of times unique readers may click an
ad.
- E-mail Notification -- Send
automatic e-mail notification to any e-mail address prior
to the beginning and end of any campaign to alert your
staff.
- Time Based Delivery -- Deliver ads
during specific times of day relative to time
zone.
- Day-of-Week Based Delivery --
Deliver ads on specific days of the week.
- Ad Allocation by Section --
Specify where you want a campaign to run by simply
selecting from a list of sections where the campaign may
run.

where you want a campaign to run by selecting specific
directories, page URLs, and page positions where you want
the campaign to run.

Page Targeting
Advertising Campaigns can target banners in a variety of ways.
First, the GeoCommunity allows campaigns to target ads to visitors of specific page
positions, pages, directories, or sites. Pages, directories,
and sites can be grouped together into content sections
which can then be targeted. For example, a section can be created that includes
all pages regardless of geography that relate to transportation layers. Further,
can be as precise as our Site's directory structure. Thus, for example a section
be further refined to take into accoutn the thematic data type (transportation) and
all European nations or counties in Ohio. The pages can be targeted in any combination
of real URLs, geography, or thematic types.
Further, the
GeoCommunity can target ads based upon passively gathered
information about the visitor like browser, operating
system, and domain. The Domain Region Database cross-
references domains with a domain registration index to allow
additional targeting by state, zip code, and country.
The GeoCommunity lets you target any of
these ways:
- Top-Level Domain Targeting --
Target ads by reader's top-level domain, like: .com,
.edu, .net (etc.).
- Sub-Domain Targeting - Target ads
by reader's domain like aol.com,
earthlink.net.
- State Targeting -- Target ads by
reader's state.
- Zip Code Targeting -- Target ads
by reader's zip code.
- Country Targeting -- Target ads by
reader's country.
- Operating System Targeting --
Target ads by reader's OS
- Browser Targeting -- Target ads by
reader's Browser.
- Browser Version Targeting --
Target ads by reader's Browser Version.
- Search Word Targeting -- Target
ads based upon search words (classified ad, yellow
pages, archive, etc.).
