Q30: I can't seem to download free data with Internet Explorer (IE)
using a Proxy Server. What can I do to correct the problem?
To problem can often be corrected if users simply add
download1.geocomm.com to the exceptions to proxy server in IE 5.0
(download2.geocomm.com for premium "fast" download service). We
have provided the steps to accomplish this below:
Inside Internet Explorer select the TOOLS pulldown. Choose the topic
INTERNET OPTIONS. Then select the CONNECTIONS tab. Then choose the LAN
SETTINGS button.
Under the title "Proxy Server" be sure that the USE A PROXY SERVER
option is checked.
Then select the ADVANCED option. Under the title "Exceptions" simply
type in the *.geocomm.com statement. Once completed select "OK"
and exit the Internet Options Window.
